Owner + Managing Director

Lauren’s role as Owner and Managing Director of Smith Madden is a testament to her visionary leadership and commitment to excellence. Throughout Lauren’s career she has amassed invaluable experience in various leadership positions within communications agencies and global hospitality groups.

Fuelled by an entrepreneurial spirit, Lauren previously led her own marketing and PR agency in Sydney. The success of this agency laid a solid foundation for the inception of Smith Madden, reflecting a commitment to delivering exceptional services in a space where creativity and innovation thrive. Lauren’s leadership is characterised by a forward-thinking approach to strategy, working with her team to embrace unique opportunities and challenges for their valued clients.

Lauren is passionate about local businesses. She is on the executive committee of the Maroochydore Chamber of Commerce and Wishlist Spring Carnival, as well as an active member of the Sunshine Coast Business Womens Network (SCBWN). Lauren was a finalist in B&T’s 30 Under 30 Entrepreneur Awards and the SCBWN Small Business Awards.

Tara Welsh

Account Director

With over two decades of experience, Tara is a seasoned creative and strategic thinker dedicated to bringing brands to life. As an agency lead, Tara assumes responsibility for developing and executing strategies aimed at nurturing and expanding client partnerships. Tara’s approach is characterised by empathy and a client-centric focus, driven by tangible results and a knack for delivering engaging and impactful brand experiences.

Tara’s expertise spans various sectors, including fashion, beauty, lifestyle, hospitality, financial and professional services. Drawing from her extensive background in both agency and client roles, Tara possesses a comprehensive understanding of branding and marketing dynamics. Kali is the experienced Website Developer we work with at Smith Madden. With over 10 years of experience, and a Bachelor of Design and Communication, of Kali specialises in crafting high-converting websites that transform passion into profit.

Her focus is on strategy and personalisation. Working across WordPress, Squarespace and Shopify, Kali’s versatile skill set allows her to build the perfect platform for your business. Her commitment is to elevate your brand across all aspects - from aesthetics to commercial success - delivering exceptional returns on investment while simplifying your marketing efforts. Kali is the technical support to the website designers, developing, testing, optimising and managing the functionality of our websites.

Chelsey Holden

Content Marketer

Chelsey Holden is a motivated and creative Content Marketer, known for her passion for storytelling, digital marketing and strategic thinking. She excels in developing and executing content strategies to drive engagement, brand awareness, and lead generation.

Her journey into marketing began in fashion, where she transitioned from managing the online store to creating compelling copy, igniting her love for marketing. At Smith Madden, Chelsey specialises in SEO, content development, website management, email marketing campaigns, and market research. Her dedication ensures impactful and engaging content, contributing to the growth and success of Smith Madden's clients.

Timothy Birch

Media Producer

Timothy is a Sydney born creative who resides on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. With a Bachelor of Digital Design, he dived straight into agency life, honing his skills as a Graphic Designer. Now, with a decade of industry experience, Tim has expanded his creative repertoire, working with Smith Madden to provide photography, videography, and public art.

He has collaborated with leading agency directors and contributed to events such as The Design Conference AGDA Ideas, Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival, and The MET. Notably, he created his debut short film, "What Now?", for Horizon festival's "Home Grown" series and was an artist-in-residence at Sun Central in 2020. As Media Producer, Tim applies his creative leadership to plan and oversee the production of various media content, from film and TV to digital platforms and live events.
